Honestly, this week has been one of the biggest in AI that we’ve seen in a long time.

But, you’re here not here for a weekly digest of all of it, just the things that matter most to you.

And Chaptgpt 4.0 should be right at the top of that list.

A handful of days ago, OpenAI released their 4o GPT update with plans to roll out 4o globally even to FREE users.

At the moment of release, all paid users were able to access GPT-4o and surprisingly, many unpaid users reported the same. So, unpaid rollouts may have already begun.

Which makes this rollout a major milestone in the emergence of AI.

A Rollout On Par With Google’s Search Engine Release?

OpenAI is making two things very clear with this release:

  1. They want as many people on the planet as possible to have access to the power of AI.

  2. They want to be a major channel driving AI to the masses or vice versa.

That said, let’s take a quick look at some of the new features that GPT-4o is rolling out.

Massively Upgraded Image Generation

Say goodbye to your graphic design struggles with 4o’s incredible capacity for image generation.

The platform still leverages Dall-E3 but has expanded its capabilities to include text generation!

Which means that now, instead of taking your AI-generated images out of GPT and editing text into place with Photoshop, you can have Dall E3 generate your images with text already in place.

Going one step further, you can even have Dall E3 create custom fonts for you in virtually unlimited styles.

Dall E3 will also be capable of creating 3D projections based on 2D images and creating new images from reference images.

AI Voice and Conversation Simulation

One of the most noticeable shifts with this latest release is the inclusion of an AI companion feature, which includes a voice model that actually sounds…

Human.

GPT 4o is better at detecting contextual shifts in conversations and has even become capable of understanding and reciprocating sarcasm and humor. In the Open AI demo which showcased the launch, users can be seen having conversations with GPT that have the “human touch”.

This included a spectacular example of a user preparing for a job interview, using his front-facing camera to interact with GPT.

Instead of providing bland, robotic feedback, GPT actually provided guidance that took the empathetic route of sharing a laugh, instead of simply saying:

“Take off that hat, you look silly and won’t be taken seriously.”

(BTW, GPT 4o can even sing and have audible conversations with other AI.)

Customer Support

Now, let’s dig into one of the more business-oriented possibilities of the new GPT-4o.

Simply put, with GPT 4os enhanced ability to interpret context, execute on simple tasks, AND have HUMAN conversations, you’re looking at a 24/7 customer support center of ONE with real time language translation.

The implications of this for businesses are gigantic.

Small businesses who can’t afford a customer support rep, can now have an entire team of reps if they choose, without taking on the burden of paying a salary with benefits.

At the same time, they have no need to worry about GPTs ability to execute solutions to simple problems, which account for most customer support interactions.
